How It Works

Built while you're here.
Kept long after.

A closer look at the full arc of a capsule — from the first prompt you answer, to the moment someone finds your QR code decades from now.

01

You build it, at your own pace

There's no deadline and no pressure to fill it all at once. Most people use a mix of:

  • Guided prompts, delivered gently over time — starting light, growing deeper only as you're ready
  • A freeform diary for whatever's on your mind, any day
  • Photos and videos, uploaded directly or imported from services you already use
02

Your permanent code exists from day one

As soon as your capsule is set up, you're given a unique, permanent code — ready to be engraved on a headstone, a keepsake, or kept for later. You don't have to wait for anything to happen before it exists.

03

You choose a beneficiary

One person you trust may add a final word after you're gone — always clearly marked as theirs, never confused with your own words. You can change this at any time while your capsule is active.

04

When the time comes, it opens

A family member lets us know, and our team personally reviews the details before anything changes. Once confirmed, your capsule becomes a public memorial profile — reachable the moment someone scans your code.

05

It's built to outlast the moment

Today, that means a capsule that's safely stored and always reachable. Longer term, we're working toward something more permanent still — a personal, physical archive built on a timescale of generations, not server uptime.

What if I'm not ready to write anything heavy?

You're never asked to. The lightest, easiest prompts come first — anything reflective or legacy-focused is entirely optional and opt-in.

Can I delete something I've added?

Yes, any time while your capsule is active and unsealed.

What happens if I don't assign a beneficiary?

Your capsule is simply sealed as-is once your account is marked deceased — no one else can add to it.
